Initial phone consultation

I offer a free 30 minute phone call for an initial consultation to discuss your concerns, your child’s needs and whether intervention is appropriate. Sessions would then consist of:

Assessement

I will take a case history, to learn more about your child’s development, any medical or additional learning needs and how they communicate. I will carry out formal or informal assessment to learn more about their strengths and needs. We will then discuss the results of this assessment and whether your child would benefit from Speech and Language Therapy input. We will discuss the options for intervention and agree a plan together.

Intervention

This can take a variety of forms depending on the needs of your child and your preferences. Options include:

A block of therapy sessions followed by a review.
Less frequent sessions to model activities and strategies which you work on with your child.
Developing additional ways of communicating, such as signing or symbols for children with Additional Learning needs.
School or nursery visits to carry out intervention or to model a programme to the setting and support for them to carry out this programme
Programme writing.
Formal report writing.

Initial Assessment 60 minute £65 plus mileage charge

Follow up 50 minute session £55 plus mileage charge

Reports and programme writing £50 an hour
